How can I add an external teacher to my school?

  • If any teachers from other school's in your trust also need access to your school's Pupil Progress account, this can be set up in just a few clicks.

  • Similarly, the same steps can be followed by a School Admin on another school's account to add you to a different school.

Where to start:

The first thing to check before adding a new teacher to your school, would be whether they already have a Pupil Progress account. Providing that they do, this article explains the steps involved in adding them to another school.

If they don't have an active account on their native school;

We'd recommend following the steps in one of the articles below first:

Once you're sure they're already set up on the other school;

  1. Head to My School and Staff from the home page.

  2. From here, click Add Staff and enter their details as you normally would, before clicking Save Changes.

  3. You should then be met with a green 'Staff Added' message in the bottom right corner of the screen. (Pictured in the GIF below)

  • They will automatically have the Active status if you search their name in the staff list, and you can repeat this process as many times as you need for all other staff who need access to your school's account.

What will these changes look like at the login stage?

  • When this teacher next signs in to Pupil Progress, rather than going straight into their school's account, they'll be met with a page asking them to select which school they'd like to sign in to. (Pictured in the GIF below)

  • To switch which school they're signed in to, they can simply click their email address in the top right corner and select another school. (Pictured in the GIF below)

Something to note:

To make it clearer which school you're signed into when you're looking at your class tracker, you'll see the current' school's logo next to the back button. (Pictured Below).

The above steps may also be helpful for schools that share a sixth form.
