Maths trackers have a unique feature that allows you to add an assessment that is not linked to a specific past paper. This is to support maths departments that combine calculator and non-calculator questions into one End of Topic Test.
Create a mixed calculator and non-calculator paper
To add a mixed calculator and non-calculator paper to a Maths tracker:
Within Live Tracking for a class, select Add New Assessment in the left menu.
Select Customised Assessment.
Below Step 2, select End of Topic Tests from the Unit dropdown.
Why is the Current Grade the same as the Average Unit Grade?
Adding in this unit has made some unique changes to Maths trackers for the Current Grade.
This grade will now be based on a Scaled Average Mark from all the Past Paper Units and the End of Topic Tests units that have data.
If one or more of the units have no marks, then they are ignored in the Scaled Average Unit Total.
π‘ This gives a more realistic idea of your students current attainment levels.
Add a low stakes End of Topic Test
You may want to show an End of Topic Test on the tracker and reports, but for it not to count towards overall grades. To do this:
Click Edit Assessments in the left menu of your tracker.
Select QUICK EDIT to the right of the tracker name.
Deselect the box below Count towards Summary Grades next to the assessment.
Select SAVE CHANGES.
