Just to note, the option to enable Custom Grade Boundaries for specific subject areas within your school, is only accessible to School Admins. User Permission Levels can be easily amended by a School Admin.

How can I enable Custom Grade Boundaries for Customised Assessments on a tracker?

Activate Custom Grade Boundaries for assessments on a tracker:

  1. Hover over My School from the top menu and select Custom Grade Boundaries from the dropdown, here you'll see all trackers for your School

  2. Tick the box next to the tracker/s you wish to enable Custom Grade Boundaries on, or tick Select All to select all trackers within that subject area

Choose Custom Grade Boundaries on a Customised Assessment:

Once you have enabled Custom Grade Boundaries for the tracker, you will then see the option to choose your own boundaries when adding a Customised Assessment. To add an assessment with Custom Grade Boundaries:

  1. Within Live Tracking, on the left side menu, select Add New Assessment > Customised Assessment, and fill in the details.

When to use Custom Grade Boundaries

We encourage users to consider the reason for shifting away from the specification's grade boundaries. Although it is possible to add Custom Grade Boundaries to all of your assessments, the most accurate data will be produced when a consistent grade boundary series is used across your whole tracker.

For this reason, we would recommend using this feature sparingly, and instead utilising the 'Same as Tracker' option where possible. Varying boundaries for different assessments could mask those that are not challenging enough or are too challenging.
