There are three options for setting grade boundaries on Trust-Level Assessments: Same as tracker, Custom Grade Boundaries, and Hide Grade.

This allows you to control when you release grades, and whether you want to set your own boundaries or keep them the same as the tracker.

To begin creating a Trust-Level Assessment, follow the steps in this article:

Hide Grades

Hide Grade gives you the option to stop grades from being awarded until you're ready to release them.

If you select Hide Grade as the grade boundary option for your Trust-Level Assessment, only raw marks will appear on the tracker, with the scaled mark and grade columns hidden from schools.

Set Custom Grade Boundaries

Custom Grade Boundaries allow you to choose the raw marks for each grade. This is particularly relevant for tiered subjects as you can cap grades across foundation and higher assessments.

How does it work if my assessment boundaries are different from the tracker boundaries? Once schools enter raw marks for the assessment, the tracker converts these into Tracker Equivalent Marks. This is the mark a student would have achieved based on the tracker grade boundaries.

This allows for your Trust-Level Assessments to be integrated into the tracker and used to calculate Unit and Overall Grades.

πŸ’‘ Note: Schools can view a breakdown of the Custom Grade Boundaries you've set by going to Edit Assessments. However, they won't be able to make changes to the grade boundaries.

Match the tracker grade boundaries

You can keep it simple and choose for the grade boundaries to be the same as tracker. If doing so, assessment grades will be awarded using the grade boundary series that the school has set on the tracker.

If the total marks for your Trust-Level Assessment are different from the total marks available for the paper/unit within the course, the tracker will convert raw marks to Scaled Total Marks. This allows for an accurate grade to be given in line with the tracker grade boundaries.

Edit grade boundaries

You can change grade boundaries on your Trust-Level Assessment even after it's been published. Simply click the three dots to the far right of the assessment and select Edit Grade Boundaries from the dropdown options.

πŸ’‘ Note: Changes to grade boundaries on Trust-Level Assessments are processed overnight.
