It's possible, although not recommended, to enter grades into your Pupil Progress tracker.

Pupil Progress uses a mark-based system of tracking attainment, as it produces the most accurate and actionable data for your students. It means that both staff and students are clear as to where their grades are coming from, and where to direct focus in order to improve. Entering marks rather than grades also allows for staff to take greater accountability over their classes' celebrations and challenges.

However, we understand that in some circumstances, experienced teachers who have a comprehensive knowledge of the mark scheme may prefer to only enter a grade, particularly in subjects with a substantial practical element like Art or Design & Technology. Whilst we would still recommend assessing students against the mark scheme, the video below explains how you are able to give your students an overall grade instead:

  1. First, add a single-mark Customised Assessment with the same maximum number of marks as in the actual exam or practical assessment.

  2. Then, you can view the boundaries for that unit by toggling Tools and Change under Grade Boundaries to enter a corresponding value to give you the mark you're looking for.

If you need any more info on how to add an assessment to your tracker, check out the article linked below:
