Add students to your school

A guide to manually adding students to your student list.

If you're a School Admin, you'll be able to add students to your school's students list. User Permission Levels can be easily amended by a School Admin.


Add students to your school

If your Pupil Progress school is set up to sync with your school's MIS, your student list will be synced automatically. Alternatively, students can be uploaded manually within My School > Students.

Here, select ADD STUDENT to manually add one student at a time, or select IMPORT STUDENTS FROM XLS to import students in mass.

Import students from XLS

First, click DOWNLOAD XLS TEMPLATE from the pop-up window. Then, open the file from your downloads and follow the instructions highlighted in yellow at the top of the template. The below are required fields:

  • UPNs

  • First Name

  • Surname

You can also use this template to upload additional student details, such as KS2 prior attainment, for your analysis.

Alternatively, if you're adding students individually, simply input their UPN, first name and surname before selecting SAVE CHANGES at the bottom of the page.
