Why can't I make changes to my classes?

In most cases, Pupil Progress will be directly connected with your school's MIS; meaning that your classlists are automatically updated with any changes that you make.

As the data is synced across each day, this means that you are not able to make manual changes to your class details on Pupil Progress itself. However, you are able to unsynchronise your classes from your school's MIS at any time in a couple of clicks.

This may be useful for KS5 vocational courses, whereby a class of students may be sitting different qualification levels, or perhaps KS3 rotation classes, depending on how these are set up.

How do I unsynchronise my classlists?

To unsynchronise your classes;

  1. From the Tracking page, click the three dots to the right hand side of where the relevant qualification and year group is listed

  2. Click Unsynchronise your classlists, then confirm you want to unsync the group

  3. The page will then refresh immediately, and the icon in the Classlist sync status column will change from a tick to an icon reminiscent of a paperclip.

  • Once the classlists have been unsynced, you're able to add and remove students, move them between classes, or change other details, such as the class' name or the teachers that are assigned.
