Student reports for subjects with a large number of sub-topics, such as Maths, include both overall Topic Summary percentages and a Topic Summary breakdown of individual topics.
This article covers the difference between Topic Summary data within reports. However, if you'd like to learn more about what Topic Summaries are, take a look at the article below:
Overall vs Individual Topics
Overall %
The darker-shaded Topic Summary table on the left side of the report displays an overall summary for all core topics within the course.
Each percentage is based on a combined average of all sub-topics within the core topic area, factoring in the weighting of the QLA linked to each topic.
Individual %
The lighter-shaded Topic Summary table to the right side of the report displays a breakdown of individual sub-topics within the core topic areas. These percentages are based on performance across each question that has been linked to the respective topic.
Split into Areas of Strength and Progress Opportunities, only the strongest and weakest topic areas for each student are included. This concentrated approach allows students to clearly identify their strongest areas, as well as focus areas for further study.
