There may be times when you need to change the qualification or exam board that your class is currently on - perhaps if students were originally set up on an Edexcel tracker, but they are now following AQA.

To do this, you'll need to use Add New Class to set up the class on the new course, then move any data over into the new tracker before removing the old one. This article will walk you through the process of changing courses.

1 | Add your class to a new course

Synchronised classes

If Pupil Progress is synced with your MIS, add the class to the new course using the steps below:

  1. Click the blue Add New Class button from the Tracking home page.

  2. From the MIS Connected Classes tab, select Add classes that sync daily and then Continue.

  3. Choose the relevant Subject Area, Qualification and Specification.

  4. All available classes from your MIS will appear below for your selection.

  5. Once selected, click Add New Class at the bottom of the page.

  6. Classes will then update on the Tracking home page.

Manual classes

If Pupil Progress is not synced with your MIS, add the class to the new course using the steps below:

  1. Click the blue Add New Class button from the Tracking home page.

  2. From the Manually tab, select Using existing students and click Continue.

  3. Choose the relevant Subject Area, Qualification and Specification.

  4. Fill in the class details, including the name, year group, and teacher(s).

  5. Select Choose class list to copy from and select the relevant class.

  6. Click Add New Class at the bottom of the page.

If you can't find the qualification you're looking for, send us a message by clicking the icon in the bottom-right corner of the screen.

2 | Move any data across into your new tracker

If you've already input data into the previous tracker, you're able to copy this into the new tracker using the Bulk Edit tool. For the steps on how to do this, take a look at the article below:

3 | Remove classes from the old tracker

You can then delete any classes from the previous tracker, once you're certain that they contain no data that you need. To delete a class:

  1. First, ensure that all classes are unsynchronised, by clicking the three-dot symbol to the right of the course title, and selecting Unsynchronise Your Classlists from the dropdown.

  2. Then, click the three-dot symbol next to any class' Live Tracking, and select Delete from the dropdown.

  3. The page will automatically refresh with the selected class removed.

4 | Update optional units

For courses with optional units or pathway choices, you'll need to set up your unit preferences on the updated tracker.

To update the units that display on the tracker, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the 3-dot symbol next to the Live Tracking button.

  2. Select Edit Tracker Options | Class from the dropdown options.

  3. Here, you're able to tick the optional units that you'd like to display.

  4. Click Save Changes at the bottom of the page to confirm your selection.
