Use Data Import to copy and paste data

The Data Import tool allows you to transfer data from an existing source into a tracker using copy and paste, as opposed to manually inputting one mark at a time. To use Data Import:

  1. Within Data Entry mode for a class or Year Group Overview Data Entry mode, open Tools in the left menu and select Data Import.

  2. Open your external data source (e.g. an Excel spreadsheet) and copy the data using Ctrl+C (Windows) or Command+C (Mac).

  3. Return to the tracker, click the cell in the top left corner of where you're looking to paste, then press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Command+V (Mac) to paste.

  4. Click Save Changes in the top bar to save your pasted data and exit Data Import mode.

πŸ’‘ Some things to note:

  • To ensure that data transfers correctly, double-check that both the assessment columns and order of students align between the source and the tracker.

  • The Data Import tool also allows you to copy and paste data between two trackers. Simply ensure you are in Data Import mode on both trackers.
