  • Open the tracker where the assessment will be added.

  • Choose either:

    • the year group overview, or

    • an individual class tracker.

  • Confirm you are working in the correct subject tracker before continuing.

  • In the left-hand toolbar, select Add New Assessment.

  • If you cannot see this option, check your permission level.

  • This option is available only to:

    • Pupil Progress Administrators, or

    • Subject Leaders.

  • If the Add New Assessment button is missing, you are likely set up as a standard teacher.

  • Contact your Pupil Progress Champion or Administrator to request a permission change.

  • Do not continue until the correct access has been granted.

  • Select Customised Assessment for a new assessment built from scratch.

  • Use Copy and Modify only if you want to reuse a previously saved assessment.

  • For a new KS3 assessment, continue with Customised Assessment.

  • Under Target Tracker, choose the correct unit or term where the assessment should sit.

  • Enter a clear assessment name.

  • Make sure the name is understandable to:

    • students,

    • parents, and

    • staff, because it will appear on student reports.

  • Check the tick-box settings shown by default.

  • Leave them as they are unless your assessment requires changes.

  • If needed, these settings can also be edited later.
