Pupil Progress' Copy Existing Assessment feature allows you to make changes to a Published or Customised Assessment, without needing to create the assessment from scratch.

Note: This feature is only accessible to School Admins and Leaders of subject areas.

Modify the questions on a Published Assessment

Follow these 8 steps to copy an existing assessment:

  1. From within a tracker, select Add New Assessment and choose Copy Existing Assessment.

  2. Alternatively, you can do this from the Tracking homepage by going to Tracking > Assessments, clicking the blue button Add New Assessment and then Copy Existing Assessment.

3. The Target Tracker (the one that you're already on) will automatically fill in the course details.

4. Fill in the details for the Source Tracker, i.e. the one you're looking to add the assessment from. This may be the same as the Target Tracker, or will differ in cases such as if you're adding an AS-Level paper to an A-Level tracker.

5. The Assessment Name dropdown will show all of the available papers you can copy from, find the assessment you're looking to add and then click the blue Copy Selected button.

6. This converts the paper to a Customised Assessment, allowing you to make any changes you need, including to the QLA and grade boundaries.

You can remove, duplicate, or move questions up or down in the list by clicking the three dots to the right of any question. You can also Add Another Question at the bottom of the list.

πŸ’‘Some things to note:

  • As the tracker will create a scaled mark for this assessment regardless, the maximum amount of marks can above or below that of the actual paper.

  • For subjects with optional questions (such as GCSE Geography), the assessment will no longer be able to select the best answer, and will increase the maximum amount of marks instead - in this specific example, you could add a 'Food/Water/Energy' question instead.

7. Once you're done, click Save and Collapse. On the next page, you can then choose to Add Another Assessment or click Create Assessments.

8. Once you return to the tracker and expand (+) the relevant unit, the new assessment columns will be visible and you can begin entering your data!
