Follow the steps in this article to download a copy of your data in Pupil Progress, so that you can upload it into your 4Matrix MIS for further analysis.

How do I import my Pupil Progress data into 4Matrix?

  1. In Pupil Progress, click Analysis from the top bar and choose which year group you're looking to download the data for.

  2. Select Grades Summary from the options before clicking Continue.

  3. In the Grades Summary, you can view an Average Unit Grade for all students in the year group across all subject areas. You can also change what grade is being pulled using the Grade Type dropdown on the left-hand side.

  4. Open Student Attributes from the left menu to add any additional fields, such as a unique identifier like Admission Number or UPN. Gender and UPN must be included in order for you to copy this data into 4Matrix.

  5. Once your grade source and columns are configured, open Tools from the left menu and select Download as XLS. This will download all of the Grade Summary's raw data as an Excel file, ready for you to copy and paste elsewhere as needed.

  6. Repeat this process as many times as you need across multiple year groups.

What next?

Now that you have a download of your assessment data:

  1. Head to 4Matrix and select the Admin tab.

  2. Then, go to Spreadsheet -> Pupils / Results.

  3. This will open the Identify Data box, where you can select the academic year and year group before creating a new series and adjusting any other options.

  4. When on the Select Data tab, switch back to your Pupil Progress download and copy the data.

  5. You can then click Paste to import this in to 4Matrix.

  6. Then, all you need to do is match up the columns and subjects, and click Finish when you're done.
