Compare class averages from your tracker

Switch the tracker view to display average marks and grades across your classes.

The Class Average Comparison is a tracker view available to all Pupil Progress users. It displays a row of average marks and grades for each class within a year group for a specific qualification.

This article outlines how to access a Class Average Comparison, as well as how to get the most out of your class-average data.


View a Class Average Comparison

To access a Class Average Comparison:

  1. From the Tracking home page, open Live Tracking for any class.

  2. Click the dropdown next to the class name in the top-left of the tracker.

  3. Select Class Average Comparison from the class name dropdown, then click Continue.

  4. All classes for this qualification and year group will appear, with their average data shown to the right.

When to use the Class Average Comparison

Use the Class Average Comparison view to expand your analysis from individual student data to class-level comparisons:

  • By combining each class's average data into one view, there's no longer a need to switch between each class's Live Tracking to view average data.

βœ”οΈ Spot class trends

  • Sort classes by their average data and identify which classes are excelling in particular units or topic areas, as well as those who may need additional intervention and resources.

βœ”οΈ Share your insights with teachers

  • Download the Class Average Comparison view and present the data to your wider team.
