The View menu contains several options to modify the way data is displayed on your tracker, including enabling or disabling colour shading, showing multiple units, pinning grades, and hiding grades.

These preferences are class-specific and account-specific, meaning any changes made will be visible only to you and will not impact other staff members' views.

This quick-start guide will help you set up your view in the most functional way for your tracking.

Set up your view

First, open Live Tracking for a class or open a Year Group Overview, then select View in the left menu. You'll see the following options:

  1. Enable showing multiple units

By default, trackers show one unit at a time to reduce loading times. This means when you expand (+) another unit, the one you have open will close. If you want to view data across multiple units at once, tick Enable showing multiple units.

By doing this, you'll also be able to add multiple Comparison to MTG filters, comparing multiple Unit Grades or Past Paper Grades to students' targets. You may use this to view students on target in one unit and off target in another.

  2. Change the Average type

The Average row appears in the first row of a tracker above the student list. Values are displayed as whole numbers by default. However, you can use the Average type dropdown to change them to one-decimal place or percentages.

  3. Pin grades

View the grades most relevant to you first by pinning them to the front of your tracker. Simply select any Summary Grade in the Pin grades section, and it will be added to the first column before any units.

  4. Enable / disable colour shading on Unit Grades

If you have input MTGs (Minimum Target Grades) for students, all Past Paper, Unit, and Summary Grades will be colour-coded against their targets. To disable colour shading for a unit, in the View menu, expand (+) a unit and untick Enable colour shading.

  5. Edit Assessments

Expand (+) a unit to view a list of all assessments, and click the assessment symbol to the right of an assessment to make any edits.

  6. View Snapshot values

If your school is tracking Learning Characteristics, Teacher Predicted Grades, or Flexi Grades at multiple points throughout the year, you can use the Snapshot and Clear features to capture each data point and then refresh the columns for the next.

Within View, you can then add each previous snapshot value to your tracker alongside current values for viewing and comparison. Simply select previous Learning Characteristic values within the purple section, and Teacher Predicted Grade or Flexi Grade values using the dropdowns in the Summary section.

  7. Enable / disable colour shading on Summary Grades

Grades in the Summary area of the tracker are colour-coded against MTGs by default. To disable colours and view only the grades, untick Enable colour shading within the Summary section of the View menu.

  8. Hide Grades

Simplify the Summary area of your tracker by hiding the Current Grade, Average Unit Grade, or Unit Marks. To do this, scroll down to the Summary section of the View menu and untick the box next to the relevant grade.

You may want to hide the Current Grade if all units have not yet been completed.

πŸ’‘ Hiding grades in View does not affect what is shown in reports. Grades displayed in reports can be edited using Report Templates.

  9. Show the Target Grid

The final option in the View menu is to select the Target Grid to Show on tracker. You can then select Current Grade or Average Unit Grade from the dropdown below.

The Target Grid will be added at the end of the tracker, displaying the number of marks each student is away from achieving the next grade up.
