Note: Both School Admins and Leaders of Subject Areas have access to Downloadable Reports, while only School Admins can customise Report Templates.

A Summary Report contains an overview of each subject. It lists all subjects and courses a student is taking, with their overall grades and/or marks displayed alongside.

Print out Summary Reports or publish them on the Pupil Progress App to share with students at your school's mock results day.

This article covers how to customise, download, and publish Summary Reports.

Set up your Report Template

To customise what's displayed on your Summary Reports, go to Reports > Report Templates > ADD REPORT TEMPLATE.

For a complete guide to report customisation options, take a look at the article below:

When setting up a Report Template for Summary Reports, choose from the following display options:

1. Grades

Select up to four grade types to display alongside each subject. If you want to display marks only, leave the grade selection blank and move on to the next step. Choose to display:

  • Minimum Target Grade (MTG)

  • Current Grade

  • Average Unit Grade

  • Teacher Predicted Grade

  • Flexi Grade

2. Marks

Select to display Overall Total Marks and/or Average Scaled Marks alongside each subject. Leave the mark selection blank to display grades only.

Overall Total Marks represent the actual number of marks students have achieved from assessments sat so far. These are used to calculate the Current Grade.

Average Scaled Marks represent the total marks achieved, scaled to account for any units that haven't been assessed yet. These are used to calculate the Average Unit Grade.

πŸ’‘ Note: If displaying both mark types, the values will be the same for subjects, such as Maths, which only use Average Scaled Marks.

3. Colour Settings

Select one of three colour options for displaying grades:

  • Display grades with MTG colour distance

  • Display grades only (no colour)

  • Display MTG colour distance only (no grade)

4. Learning Characteristics

To display Learning Characteristics you have enabled for the year group, select Display next to each one.

Untick Display as text if you want the numerical value to be displayed instead of the descriptor, e.g. 1 rather than Outstanding.

πŸ’‘ Note: Report Templates apply to all report types (Summary, Subject, All-Subjects). Therefore, if you're using this template for downloading/publishing subject reports, the above preferences will apply here too.

Download Summary Reports

To download Summary Reports:

  1. Hover over Reports in the top menu and select Downloadable Reports from the dropdown.

  2. Select the Academic Year and Year Group at the top of the page.

  3. Click on the relevant tab to download reports either by Student, Year Group, Attribute, or Tag.

  4. Select the criteria for downloading your reports, including your Report Template.

  5. Tick Summary only, then REQUEST REPORT.

  6. You'll receive an email to confirm your report request has been received, and then another email shortly after with a link to download your Summary Reports.

πŸ’‘ Tip: Ensure you're logged in to your Pupil Progress account when clicking the download link in the email, otherwise you won't be able to access the reports.

Publish Summary Reports

If your school is set up with the Pupil Progress App, you can simply publish Summary Reports through the platform:

  1. Hover over Reports in the top menu and select App Reports from the dropdown.

  2. Select PUBLISH NEW REPORT.

  3. Under the All Subjects Report tab, select the Snapshot you want to base the report on, then select the Year Group.

  4. Tick Summary only.

  5. Choose Selected Tracker Groups to exclude a subject, then choose to Publish now or Publish in the future.

  6. Select your Report Template and confirm by selecting PUBLISH REPORT TO APP.

  7. Once published, when students and parents log in to the app, they can select VIEW SUMMARY to view the Summary Report.

Why not print out Summary Reports, place them in envelopes, and hold your own mock results day πŸŽ‰
