Filters is a tool found in Trackers and Analysis that allows you to select which students show on your tracker, based upon a selected characteristic.

One of the filtering criteria you can access is Comparison to MTG, which filters students based on the distance between their achieved grades and target grades.

Filter your class based on students' distance from their target

To add a compare to target grade filter to a tracker:

  1. Expand (+) the relevant unit within your tracker.

  2. Hover the grade column you want to compare targets to - this could be a specific assessment, unit, or summary grade - and select the filter icon.

  3. You can then select one or multiple distance values. For example, select One grade away and Off target to view all students that haven't met their MTG.

  4. Click anywhere outside of the quick filter box to close it. The students showing in the tracker will update automatically.

πŸ’‘ Some things to note:

  • When filters have been applied, the filter icon will be filled in. You can also keep track of how many filters are applied to a tracker by noting the red circle next to Filters in the left menu.

  • You can remove filters at any time by clicking the same filter icon, then unticking the distance values.

  • Filters are user-specific, meaning they won't be applied for other staff members using the same tracker.

  • To learn more about other filter types, take a look at the article below πŸ‘‡

πŸ“– Team Tip

Filtering allows you to recognise where interventions are needed to ensure that each student achieves what they are capable of, as well as identifying over-performing students so that this can be celebrated.
