Cautionary Notes

  • Only users with the correct permissions can add assessments or change grade boundary settings.

  • Do not manually edit summary fields that are read-only; they update automatically from entered assessment data.

  • Be careful to distinguish between 0, X, and A because each means something different.

  • Ensure you are in the correct tracker, year group, and academic year before entering data.

  • If you copy grades into predicted grade fields, review them afterward to confirm they are still appropriate for individual students.

  • Grade boundary changes should be made cautiously and only by authorised staff.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Use Show my classes and filters to reduce clutter on the homepage.

  • Collapse unit columns when working with large trackers to improve visibility.

  • Use Copy grades when predicted grades are based on average unit grades.

  • Enter data in batches using keyboard navigation to move quickly across cells.

  • Use the report icon for quick one-off parent meetings instead of building a full report manually.

  • Encourage staff to use the help centre and training hub for short how-to videos before requesting support.

  • Use analysis mode after data entry to identify intervention priorities faster.
