Just to note, Fine Grades can only be enabled by a School Administrator for the School.
How can I enable fine grading on the Teacher Predicted Grade section?
By default, teachers will only see the option to add whole grades in the Teacher Predicted Grade (TPG) column, as these match that of the final qualification.
School Admin users are able to enable this by'
Hovering over My School at the top of the page
Selecting School Details from the dropdown options.
Then simply tick the box next to 'Enable fine grades' and click to Save. (Pictured in the GIF below)
After doing this, teachers will be able to select a fine grade from the options that show when entering a TPG on any GCSE or A-Level tracker. (Pictured in the GIF below)
Why can't I set my targets using fine grades?
To maintain accuracy, fine grading is exclusively accessible in the TPG column, while target grades continue to adhere to the conventional 9-1 or A*-G grading scale.
This approach aligns Pupil Progress trackers with exam board specifications, ensuring that target grades reflect the available grading options for students.
The TPG column, designed for a more informal grading method, allows greater flexibility in assigning grades.
π Pupil Progress Tip
Pupil Progress trackers empower class teachers to input their predictions for students' final grades with precision, utilising fine grading techniques. This, when coupled with their Average Unit Grade, ensures a more insightful evaluation of students' progress.
