School Admin users are able to create customised Summary grade columns for a whole year group at a time, by utilising Pupil Progress' Flexi Grade feature.

Flexi Grade allows you to view and report a single mock grade, with the option to copy a specific unit or assessment grade into a new Summary grade column.

This article explains how you can set up Flexi Grades, enter your data, review this across different sources and clear all data to start again.

Switch Flexi Grade on for a year group

To add a Flexi Grade to your trackers, start by hovering over My School from the homepage and click Flexi Grade. From here, you'll be able to select the year group you'd like to enable this for, before seeing all trackers for that year group.

You can then set a name for your grade - this will be the name that shows on the tracker, as well as student reports and analysis tools. You can also choose whether or not you want to enable fine grades (+ or -) for your new customised grade.

Next, it's simply a case of selecting which trackers you'd like to add the grade to. In most cases, you'll want to choose Select all trackers at the top of the page, however you may wish to include or exclude specific subjects, such as Core PE or PSHE trackers.

Once your chosen subjects are selected, scroll to the bottom of the page and click Save. Your trackers will then shortly update to show the new grade in the Summary area.

Add Flexi Grades to your tracker as a teacher

Once you've set up a Flexi Grade, teachers are able to add their grade data in two different ways:

  • By entering the grade directly into the column, in the same way as they would for the Teacher Predicted Grade.

  • Or, by copying the grade from another column, such as a specific assessment or the Average Unit Grade, within Tools > Copy Grades. You may then need to refresh the page for your copied grades to show in the Flexi Grade column.

πŸ’‘ Copying the grade from another column can make an excellent starting point, from which teachers can then adjust the Flexi Grades as necessary, using their best judgement when QA'ing students' results.

You can use the Flexi Grade column to compare performance side-by-side between different mock series πŸ‘‡

Reports

To show a Flexi Grade on individual student reports, you'll first need to create a new Report Template. When doing this, you'll have the option to tick a box to display Flexi Grade.

Note: this text says 'Flexi Grade', although it will show on your students' reports under the name you gave it previously.

Analysis

You're able to base your data off of the Flexi Grade within the Grades Summary, Subject Analysis or KS4 Grade Analysis, by changing the source from the Grade Type dropdown on the left side.

Clear Flexi Grade data

To refresh your Flexi Grade column and input additional values, you're able to schedule a Data Clear for all or selected year groups. Just head to My School > Snapshots, and follow the steps in the article below πŸ‘‡
