Note: This article is relevant to Data Managers and Network Managers, who are working with our Onboarding team to set up your whole school.

If you've joined us recently, you'll be in the process of getting your Pupil Progress school setup to synchronise with your MIS.

To ensure a smooth onboarding, we'll ask you to authorise a series of scopes on Groupcall so that the relevant school data can efficiently pull through to the platform.

This article will cover some of the main types of scopes that can be authorised, as well as how the data is used when extracted.

Types of scopes

There are a number of scopes that you can select to authorise, so that particular fields can be extracted and data made visible on the platform. Here are some of the key scopes:

Scope Name

How it's used on Pupil Progress

How often it's synced

Attendance

The number of present marks and possible present marks are used to provide attendance percentages on trackers and reports.

Weekly

AssessmentResults

MTGs can be imported manually to trackers to allow for attainment comparisons.

Manually

Conduct

Number of achievement and behaviour points recorded can then be added to trackers and reports.

Weekly

Contact

Parent or carer names and contact details are synced to allow for these contacts to access the Pupil Progress App.

Daily

School

Structural school information, including groups, timetable and assessment structure allow for syncing of student enrolment in classes.

Daily

SEN (Special Educational Needs)

SEN status codes are synced for student details and filtering.

Daily

Staff

Basic staff details to permit staff access to the platform.

Daily

Student

Basic student details, including first name and last name.

Daily

StudentExtended

Student details including DOB and Candidate Number.

Daily

StudentFunding

Pupil Premium, EAL (English as an Additional Language), and FSM (Free School Meals) are synced for student details and filtering.

Daily

Note: Each scope is typically supported by all major MIS.

Haven't yet set up automatic syncing through Groupcall?

Authorise scopes

Each scope needs to be authorised individually by your school through Groupcall. If you notice any empty fields on the platform, like SEN or EAL, it might be because access hasnโ€™t been authorised yet.

For further support or questions on your school set up, reach out to our Onboarding team and we'll be happy to help!

Use data for your tracking

View student attributes

Once your approved information is synchronised, you'll be able to add these fields to any tracker and enhance your analysis.

Within Live Tracking or a Grades Summary, open Student Attributes from the left side menu and tick any relevant fields. The selected data will then appear as an additional column next to the student list.

Filter by attribute

Use the Filter tool to view only students related to a specific attribute, and identify trends in attainment across cohorts.
