Snapshot and Compare within the Analysis section
What is a Snapshot?
A Snapshot allows you to capture a point in time. By clicking 'Create a Year Group Snapshot', the system will record and save the position your trackers are in at that very moment - the 9th September - for example.
Not only will you be able to view these points in time by 'Viewing snapshot', you will also be able to compare these snapshots to each other or other features such as live tracking or forecast.
What is Compare?
The Compare functionality allows you to compare 'a Snapshot', 'Live Tracking' or 'Forecast' with each other at any time.
What does Snapshot and Compare show me?
This feature provides a crystal clear picture of how much progress has been made between two points in time (Snapshot) or between two trackers.
The example pictured below is a comparison of the 'Live Tracker' and the 'Forecast tracker'.
Green - The students mark is the same in both trackers
Blue - The students mark is higher in the live tracking than in the forecast
Red - The students mark is lower in the live tracker than in the forecast
Why would I want to make this comparison?
Comparing two Snapshots, Live Tracking or Forecast will allow you to see how much progress has been made between two points in time or against the targets set in the forecast tracker.
Something to note:
If you're comparing a Snapshot to the current Live Tracking, you will be able to see how far the students have moved forward since the last snapshot was recorded.
Why should I compare Live Tracking with Forecast?
Comparing Live Tracking with a Forecast will show you how far away each student is from achieving their target grade, in every single aspect of the course.
This will provide and incredibly detailed understanding as to what is working well and what isn't.
