Live Tracking tells you the students current working at grade (i.e. what grade the student would achieve if they were sitting the exam tomorrow). Whereas Forecast is a tracker, separate from Live Tracking, that allows you to manipulate data to see the impact of varying scenarios.

Access Forecast from within a tracker

  1. Within Live Tracking for a class, select Forecast from the left menu.

  2. You will then be taken to a blank version of your tracker. To load data from Live Tracking over to Forecast, open Tools from the left menu and click Load Data.

You can choose to load data from the whole tracker, or from a selected unit.

  3. You can then use this area to add teacher judgement to units that haven't yet been completed, or on potential inflation in areas of the course where there is assessment evidence.

  4. To reset the Forecast, open Tools and select Clear Forecast.

πŸ’‘ You can use Snapshot and Compare to view progress between Live Tracking and your targets set in Forecast. Read more about this feature in the article below:

When to use Forecast

Forecast can be used in a number of scenarios:

  1. Target setting - work out the marks needed in each strand of the course for that student to achieve their target grade. Then compare this with Live Tracking to see how many marks away they are.

  2. Accurate grades forecast - use your teacher judgement to add marks to components that have not been completed yet, or inflate marks based on your judgement of progression from now until the exam.

πŸ“– Team Tip

Download your Forecast as an XLS spreadsheet within Tools > Download.
