How can I filter my class tracker based on my students' distance from their target?
Pupil Progress' filter tool allows you to select which students show on your tracker based upon whichever data sets you select.
This includes fields like gender, pupil premium, or, as this article will explore, how your students are tracking against their target grades.
To start;
From your tracker, first toggle Filters along the top bar
Select Filter by comparison to MTG from the options that show on the right hand side. (Pictured in the GIF below)
You are then able to select which of your students' grades to filter them by from the Grade Column dropdown, such as a specific assessment or unit.
In order to filter by overall attainment against their target grade, it is best to select the option for Summary | Average Unit Grade | Average Unit Grade.
Click the blue Add Filter button and you'll notice an immediate change to your tracker. (Pictured in the GIF below)
Something to note:
You'll notice a red 1 symbol appear by the filters toggle once you've added this as a reminder, and can remove the filter at any time by clicking the grey X under Existing Filters.
You are also able to stack filters as you need - for example filtering all boys tracking below their target grade, or all students tracking below who got a 4 or less on Paper 2. (Pictured in the GIF below)

π Pupil Progress Tip
Filtering allows you to recognise where interventions are needed to ensure that each student achieves what they are capable of, as well as identifying over-performing students so that this can be celebrated.
