The Filter tool allows you to select which students show on your tracker based upon a selected characteristic. This includes fields like gender, Pupil Premium, or, as this guide will explore, how your students are tracking against their target grades.

Filter your class based on students' distance from their target

To use target grade filters:

  1. Within Live Tracking for a class, select Filters in the left hand menu.

  2. From the Filter by dropdown, choose Filter by Comparison to MTG.

  3. You are then able to select which grades to filter students by from the Grade Column dropdown. This could be a specific assessment or unit.

  4. In order to filter by overall attainment against their target grade, it is best to select the option for Summary | Average Unit Grade | Average Unit Grade.

  5. Click the blue Add Filter button and the students showing in the tracker will update.

πŸ’‘ Some things to note:

  • You'll notice a red 1 symbol appear next to the Filters icon once you've added the filter, as a reminder that this has been applied.

  • You can remove the filter at any time by clicking the grey X under Existing Filters.

  • You're also able to stack filters as you need - for example, filtering all boys tracking below their target grade, or all students tracking below who achieved a 4 or less on Paper 2.

πŸ“– Team Tip

Filtering allows you to recognise where interventions are needed to ensure that each student achieves what they are capable of, as well as identifying over-performing students so that this can be celebrated.
