Note: This article is mainly relevant to Data Managers. The Import MTG feature is not currently supported for schools with Arbor MIS.

Minimum Target Grades (MTGs) for students can be found within the Summary area of a tracker, with values in the MTG column editable using the dropdown.

Once values have been entered, students' grades will become colour-coded against their targets. You'll also be able to filter the class based on the distance from achieving their targets.

Optimise your tracking by importing MTGs for each year group from your MIS to Pupil Progress, or send them to us to bulk upload for you. Read the steps in this article to find out how.

Import MTGs for each year group

To import MTGs from your MIS into Pupil Progress:

  1. Hover over My School in the top menu and select Import MTG.

  2. Type in any keywords used in aspects relating to MTGs on your MIS (e.g. FFT, MTG, Target, Target Grade), and press Enter.

  3. Once you're done, click Save and a green pop up message will appear in the bottom left corner of the page to confirm aspects import has been scheduled. This will take a few minutes to be processed. Once you refresh the page, you'll be able to see how many aspects have been found from your MIS.

  4. Head to the Import MTGs tab on the same page, and select the year group you would like to import targets for. All trackers which have been set up with synced classes for the year group will appear below.

  5. Type in the same keywords into the Keywords in all your aspects field and press Enter.

  6. You can then click the Filter by Aspect Name field in any tracker and select the relevant aspect for that subject tracker (e.g. Biology Target).

  7. Tick the box next to Resync Minimum Target Grades on selected trackers, or choose select all at the top.

  8. Finally, click the blue button Add MTGs to your trackers. A green pop up message will confirm that the MTGs import has been scheduled, and the Last Sync status will change to pending.

  9. Once the import is complete, the Last Sync status will update to the current date and you'll be able to select Download Report for each tracker. This will download an XLS file containing two tabs: MTG - Correct and MTG - Incorrect.

If MTGs are listed under Incorrect, this could be for a number of reasons; perhaps no MTGs may have been recorded yet on your MIS, or the grade type your school is using may be an alternate value to those used in Pupil Progress. In this case, reach out to our Onboarding team for further support.

πŸ’‘ Some points to note:

  • MTGs will not resynchronise automatically, they need to be resynced manually within the Import MTGs area.

  • The import MTG process will need to be redone following an academic year migration.

Send us your MTGs

We're happy to help with getting MTGs added for your school at any time during the year. Simply complete the attached template with students' target grades for each subject, along with their name, UPN and Year Group. Following this, send the files over to our Onboarding team and we'll get these uploaded for you.

Manage MTGs

Lock MTGs

Once MTGs have been added across the year group, you may wish to lock these in place to prevent any changes being made to grades within trackers. Find out how to lock MTGs in the guide below πŸ‘‡

Check for missing MTGs

You're able to view MTGs across all subjects for a year group within the Grades Summary, just set the Grade type in the left menu to Minimum Target Grades. This can be a useful tool to check for any that are missing; students that are missing MTGs will have a no data symbol in the relevant subject's column.
