How can I add an AS paper to an A-Level tracker?

  • It is best to use an A-Level tracker throughout Key Stage 5 on Pupil Progress, as this allows for the seamless transfer of data from Year 12 to Year 13 and gives you the full picture of how your students have progressed throughout the course.

  • However, due to differences in how the two qualifications are assessed, it is not possible to add an AS paper to an A-Level tracker in the typical way that you would add a Published Assessment.

Therefore, to add the AS paper you will instead need to utilise Pupil Progress' Copy Existing Assessment feature. From your tracker;

  1. Toggle Tools

  2. Select Add Assessment

  3. Select Copy Existing Assessment

  • On this page, you'll be able to select the tracker that you want to copy the paper from (the source tracker).

  • The tracker that you're adding it to (the target tracker) will be filled in automatically. (Pictured in the GIF below)

  • From there, you can add details as you normally would, such as its name and selecting the unit/paper you'd like to add it to.

Something to note:

  • The topics won't automatically reassign, so you would simply need to set these if you would like the data to feed in to the Topic Summary area. (Pictured in the GIF below)

  • Also, you can set Custom Grade Boundaries on the assessment if you'd like it to match the AS boundaries. (Pictured in the GIF below)

When you return to the tracker, the you'll be able to see your AS assessment and begin entering your students' data as you normally would.

If you are wanting to customise exam board questions and marks, you are able to do so via this feature. Your exam paper will be added onto the tracker as a Customised Assessment
