The Marks Summary is an overview of students' Scaled Average Unit Marks or Percentage of Achieved Marks across all subjects. You can view a Marks Summary for Live Tracking or Snapshots, one year group at a time.

This Analysis feature includes the same tools as the Grades Summary, allowing you to download data as an XLS file and filter students by Student Attribute and Tags.

This article is your guide to navigating the Marks Summary.

Access the Marks Summary

To view the Marks Summary for a year group:

  1. Select Analysis in the top menu.

  2. Choose the Year Group you want to view.

  3. Select Marks Summary from the Analysis options, then click Continue.

Mark types

When you first open a Marks Summary, you'll see the Scaled Average Unit Marks for students across all subjects. This is the same total shown in the Summary area of a tracker (as shown below) and is used to calculate the Average Unit Grade.

You can switch the displayed mark type to Percentage of Achieved Marks using the Mark type dropdown in the left menu.

This view shows the total percentage of marks achieved across all units, relative to the maximum marks available for the course.

The maximum marks are also displayed below the Average row.

For example:

If a students Scaled Average Unit Marks are 150 and the maximum marks are 200, their Percentage of Achieved Marks will be 75%.

πŸ’‘ Note: If a student has no data recorded for one of their subjects, you'll see a no data symbol in that subject's column. πŸ‘‡

Download the data

You can export the mark data for use in other software:

  1. Select Tools in the left menu.

  2. Select Download as XLS.

  3. Open the file from your downloads folder.

Filter and Sort students

Within the Marks Summary, you can filter students using Filters in the left menu. You can filter by:

  • Student Attribute

  • Tag

πŸ’‘ Tip: You can also sort students by performance by clicking the tracker name at the top of each column.
