The Summary section to the far right side of a tracker displays all Summary Grades. These grades are calculated based on all of the assessments that are ticked to Count towards Unit and Summary Grades.
If you're wanting to add a low stakes assessment that does not count towards these grades, follow the steps in the article below:
Otherwise, to make changes to existing assessments that are counting towards Summary Grades, follow the steps in this article.
Change which assessments count towards students' overall grades
To change which assessments count towards students' overall grades:
From the Tracking homepage, hover over Tracking and select Assessments. Then, use the filters to view your Subject Area, Course, and Year Group.
Or, access this same page from within a class by selecting Edit Assessments in the left menu.
Select QUICK EDIT to the right of the tracker name.
Tick or untick the box next to the relevant assessment, below Count Towards Summary Grades. Only ticked assessments will be included within Summary Grade calculations.
Click SAVE CHANGES. Then, repeat this as many times as necessary for your different subjects and year groups.
When you return to your tracker, grades will automatically update to reflect only the assessments you have set as counting. This could be your latest tests, PPEs, or whatever makes the most sense for your tracking.
Published Assessment workaround
If you try to stop all Published Assessments from counting towards grades, you'll encounter the following error:
'Unit * needs at least one Published Assessment set as count towards summary grade. Either hide the assessment on all trackers or select it as count towards.'
If you choose to hide the assessment instead, by deselecting Show on All Classes, the assessment will no longer count towards Summary Grades. Learn more about hidden assessments.
Count the assessment towards topics only
Count Towards Topic/Skills Summary is another option you'll see when adding or editing an assessment.
You can choose to leave this selected on your low stakes assessments or end of topic tests. This means the assessment will still impact Topic Summary percentages, allowing you to observe all analytics from the QLA (Question Level Analysis) for informing your teaching and interventions.
