Add a low stakes assessment to a tracker
When adding a Customised or Published Assessment to a tracker, you'll have the option to select whether it Counts towards Unit and Summary Grades.
When this is ticked, student's results for this assessment will impact other areas of the tracker, such as the Topic Summary.
To add your assessment as low stakes, simply ensure this box is unticked. This means that these marks will not contribute towards the overall grades within the Summary area.
Hide grades on your low stakes assessment
For Customised Assessments, when you deselect Count towards Unit and Summary Grades, another option will appear that allows you to Hide Grade for this Assessment.
By default, assessment grades are shown next to where students' marks are listed. These grades are calculated by scaling their marks against the exam board specification, based on the grade boundary series that you have set on the tracker.
However to hide the grade, simply ensure the Hide Grade for this Assessment box is ticked and the scaled grade will not show on the tracker.
Once you return to the tracker and enter your marks, the scaled mark and grade columns will be hidden, leaving only the raw mark for that assessment.
Report on NEA Elements without a Grade
Low stakes assessments with hidden grades can be particularly useful for qualifications with NEA elements, as this allows you to include attainment data in reports without confirming a final grade.
Simply follow the above steps on adding a low stakes assessment, and be sure to tick Show QLA in Reports.
π‘ If you've already input your data into a Published Assessment, simply copy it across into your new low stakes Customised Assessment using the Bulk Edit tool.
π Team Tip
Assessments that are visible on the front-end of the tracker will be included on Reports, even if the grade is hidden.
